And the 'lure' on the forehead, which is extremely bright in the Darkness Speed: It moves slow-to-medium speed on land, but is extremely fast in the water. Traits/Powers: A patient predator, it's bite is venomous, and teeth fragile and prone to breaking off in the bite. The lure, however, is the real danger. The 'lure' contains a powerful neurotoxin, which sprays in a one metre area when the lure is ruptured. Doing so will also trigger a frenzied attack from the ditch crawler. Location: In and near waterwars Rarity: They are not uncommon but stay inside waterways unless they run out of food. Notes: The appear to be Darkness creatures born of some kind of fish dying during Darkness. Credit: The name submitted is 'Erik Irons' - an almost never used alias of Magneto.

Extremely fast. At full speed, they are a blur. Traits/Powers: They appear as a clutch of eggs the size of standard footballs (soccer balls for the Americans) which are dark in color with a leathery texture, an oil-slick sheen, and react to UV light, glowing blue. They "hatch" with an hour of Darkness and grow over the night as they eat. The 'hatchlings' appear as a clutch of eggs between three and seven - four and five are most common - and stick together until they are about half grown at which point the larger/faster birds will attack the clutchmates, eating the weaker ones. They vocalize, a low coughing cry while hatchlings. As adults they are solitary and attack any others of their kind they come across in the Darkness. They do not vocalize as adults. They will bite with their beaks which leave cuts finer than a metal scalpel or slash with their claws leaving three deep claw marks twice as wide as a finger, deep enough to disembowel. Their feathers are extremely fine, fluffy, short, and easily broken off - often by the bird itself with it's talons or curved break. The fibres attach to skin of prey, which leaves a scent trail the bird is able to follow. If not cleaned off, they embed further into the skin, causing boils with last 50-72 hours and scab over with a fibrous crust with a colour ranging from dark purples to dark blues and fluoresces under UV light. Location: Eggs and young hatchlings are primarily found in the areas surrounding the poultry processing centres. Rarity: There are an estimated 12-18 clutches each night. Notes: They have been seen 'ragdolling' their prey to stun it and prefer to consume their prey while alive - once it dies they lose interest though they have been witnessed shaking the remains or scattering it over an area. It is unknown as to why. Raptors are able to fly but only short distances. Credit: Anon ICly!
